NEW YORK, NY –The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), New York City’s leading real estate trade association, today announced that its iconic annual event will take place this year on April 20th. Hosted at The Glasshouse, the event will bring together industry leaders and public officials for a night of celebration, unmatched networking and a world-class culinary experience to recognize the industry’s contributions to the City we all love.
The 127th annual event will feature a sit-down dinner and dynamic networking components with live entertainment. Top chefs and mixologists from across New York City will contribute to the night’s festivities, including Chef Daniel Boulud. Additionally, the event’s dinner component will put a spotlight on the biggest names in the industry by reintroducing the REBNY dais and recognizing the recipients of REBNY’s prestigious annual awards.
“REBNY’s annual event is the most exciting night of the year for the real estate industry, bringing together the best in our business and elected officials for a night of celebration, unmatched networking and a world-class culinary experience to honor real estate’s impact on the City we all love,” said REBNY President James Whelan. “We are excited that this year’s event will feature both a sit-down dinner and dynamic networking components, which will elevate the grand tradition of REBNY events alongside the fresh energy that continues to move our industry forward.”
“The hard work of our industry and our partners in government has brought New York City back,” said REBNY Chairman Douglas Durst. “Our streets are bustling, our offices filling up and the energy and vitality of our City restored. REBNY and its members look forward to once again celebrating our collective contributions to New York City.”
Annual REBNY recognitions presented during the dinner include the Louis Smadbeck Memorial Broker Recognition Award and the Bernard H. Mendik Lifetime Leadership in Real Estate Award, among other awards, all of which will be announced in the coming months ahead of the event.
A portion of event proceeds will go to the REBNY Foundation, which is helping to increase diversity and inclusion in the real estate industry through ongoing initiatives such as the REBNY Fellows Leadership Program in partnership with Coro New York and REBNY’s Internship Program in partnership with Project Destined and the City University of New York (CUNY). The REBNY Foundation also supports Building Skills NY, a nonprofit construction workforce development organization that connects underemployed New Yorkers with jobs and training to create new career pathways into the construction industry.
More information can be found on the REBNY website here. REBNY will make additional announcements in the coming weeks about other chefs and mixologists who will be participating in this year’s event.
