Key findings from this analysis found that the most unsafe construction projects in New York City, during this six-year time period, were sites less than 10 stories tall, among the vast majority of fatalities, 75% occurred at sites less than 10 stories high and 60% of fatalities occurred at sites under five stories, and after an accident occurs, and the NYC Department of Buildings investigates, sites under 10 stories are 43% more likely to receive a safety violation.
