The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), the City’s leading real estate trade association, today announced it has hired Ninve James as Senior Vice President of REBNY’s Residential Listing Service (RLS).

“This is an exciting time for the RLS and we are incredibly honored to have Ninve lead the path forward. Her knowledge and expertise in consumer-facing products and residential brokerage are tangible assets that will benefit our members and the entire RLS ecosystem in new and exciting ways,” said REBNY COO Sandhya Espitia.

James brings 17 years of experience leading consumer-facing portals and solutions for residential brokerage in New York City and other vertical markets. She has strong experience with product launches, consumer insights and managing web engineering teams, and is well-versed in industry relations. Prior to joining REBNY, James served as Vice President of Realtor.com where she led and managed the New York City market strategy for the past five years. And prior to that, she was a member of the New York City founding team at Trulia.com, which was acquired by Zillow in 2015. James holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles. She resides in Long Island City, Queens.

“I’m thrilled to join the team at REBNY and to lead the next chapter of the RLS in New York City. I look forward to tackling the nuances and challenges we all experience when buying, selling and renting real estate in the greatest City in the world,” said Ninve James, newly appointed Senior Vice President of REBNY’s Residential Listing Service.

In this role, James will oversee REBNY’s RLS, the centralized source of real-time residential listing information used by more than 14,000 New York City real estate professionals and 90+ syndication partners. REBNY regulates listing data in the RLS to ensure transparency for consumers and compliance with New York State advertising law and the Fair Housing Act (FHA). James will lead the RLS strategy and operations working in partnership with the Residential Board of Directors and the RLS Board of Directors, which are key industry authorities for REBNY.

“I am so elated that Ninve will lead the helm at the RLS of REBNY. We are so lucky to have an industry veteran whose knowledge of not only New York City but the whole nation will continue to cement our cutting edge platform now and surely grow it in the future,” said REBNY Residential Board of Directors Co-Chair Elizabeth Ann Stribling-Kivlan.

REBNY RLS Board Co-Chair Clelia Peters of Warburg Realty said, “I could not be more excited to welcome Ninve James to her role as Head of the RLS. This is a pivotal moment for the RLS as we continue to meaningfully improve both the back-end and front-end tools for managing our complex New York City listing data.”

REBNY RLS Board Co-Chair John Wollberg of Halstead added, “Given her deep expertise in listing data and New York market knowledge, I could not think of better person to lead these efforts and to serve the interests of the agents, owners and all New Yorkers in the home search process.”

REBNY’s RLS includes an average of more than 17,000 active listings from more than 600 brokerage firms and property owners, representing a total of $29 billion worth of residential real estate in New York City. The RLS provides the infrastructure that allows brokers to share residential property listing data with other brokerage firms and a powerful network of third-party websites and products so consumers can find new homes. The RLS provides the most accurate and up-to-date listing information available in the five boroughs because it comes directly from brokerages and property owners and is centralized through a single feed. REBNY’s listing service offers maximum exposure for sellers and property owners, while also providing transparent inventory of available residential listings to buyers and renters.
