The City Council today passed Intro 146, which will expand access to housing vouchers by raising the CityFHEPs voucher limits and tying them to the Fair Market Rate. REBNY President James Whelan released the following statement:

“We applaud Speaker Johnson, Council Member Levin and the City Council for passing Intro 146 and we recognize the tireless advocacy of WIN and other organizations that helped make this possible. Raising CityFHEPs voucher limits and tying them to the Fair Market Rate will advance our shared goal of increasing access to housing for vulnerable New Yorkers. We also urge State officials to act in a similar fashion to raise State FHEPs voucher limits, which will ensure a level playing field for voucher holders. REBNY strongly supports policies that expand access to housing vouchers and we will continue working with elected officials, nonprofits and other stakeholders to build on this progress.”
