New York, NY – The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) is excited to relaunch its partnership with MetaProp, the world’s leading venture capital firm focused on the PropTech industry. This renewed collaboration strengthens REBNY’s commitment to engaging with technology issues that are reshaping the built environment.

MetaProp’s dedication to the PropTech industry encompasses investments in technological innovations designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of real estate operations. This rapidly growing sector includes a wide range of solutions—from property management software and real estate marketplaces to smart building technologies—that are transforming how properties are developed, bought, sold and managed.

As part of this ongoing partnership, REBNY will work closely with MetaProp to develop and amplify visibility and participation in its Global PropTech Confidence Index, a bi-annual publication that seeks to help investors, entrepreneurs and real estate executives understand the landscape surrounding PropTech investments and challenges facing the real estate industry at large. REBNY will help draft questions and integrate insight from its members into the report, as well as help promote findings amongst the broader real estate industry and public policy officials. The report is sponsored by PWC and also presented by the Royal Institution of Charted Surveyors (RICS).

Additionally, REBNY will serve as a key sponsor of MetaProp’s PropTech Accelerator at Columbia University and will participate in NYC Real Estate Tech Week from November 11-14, 2024.

By pursuing this partnership with MetaProp, REBNY continues to ensure it’s at the forefront of the PropTech space, equipping its members with the tools and insights needed to thrive in an increasingly digital landscape.

“Partnering with MetaProp allows REBNY to deepen our involvement in the real estate-centric tech ecosystem,” said Sandhya Espitia, Chief Operating Officer at REBNY. “We are focusing on many efforts that lead to thoughtful involvement and participation in NYC’s PropTech landscape. Our members are fostering, vetting and implementing solutions across millions of square feet, from security to amenities”.

REBNY is also actively engaging in finding solutions at the intersection of PropTech and policy. Through its recently revamped Technology Committee, REBNY is increasing policy engagement on issues that affect the industry to ensure our voices are heard and the expertise of our members is top of mind. REBNY also launched a monthly Tech Insights Newsletter to keep its members informed and engaged. Comprised of senior technology experts in the city’s leading real estate firms, the REBNY Technology Committee will be involved in the REBNY-MetaProp partnership.

Aaron Block, co-Founder of and Managing Partner at MetaProp, stated, “We are thrilled to partner with REBNY, the leading trade association in the New York City real estate community. This collaboration will enhance our collective efforts to elevate NYC’s standing as the global hub of real estate innovation and promote a tech-forward mindset within the industry.”

The ongoing partnership between REBNY and MetaProp underscores a shared vision of leveraging technology to improve the real estate sector, benefiting stakeholders across the board.
