REBNY Celebrates Outstanding Commercial Property Management Professionals at 20th Annual Leadership Breakfast

NEW YORK, NY – The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), the City’s leading real estate trade association, gathered members of the commercial property management industry on June 11th for the 20th Annual Commercial Management Leadership Breakfast. Celebrating the accomplishments of commercial property management professionals, the event featured keynote remarks from MTA Chair and CEO Janno Lieber.

The prestigious Edward A. Riguardi Commercial Management Executive of the Year Award was presented to Michael Aisner, Senior Vice President, Head of Property Management & ESG, RXR. Aisner oversees the company’s 20 million-square-foot Class A commercial portfolio across New York City and the Tri-State region. With more than two decades of institutional real estate experience, he leads RXR’s property management and sustainability initiatives, including operational performance, tenant satisfaction, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

“We are proud to celebrate this year’s honorees, and the countless managers, engineers, security personnel, porters and operations teams whose work ensures New York remains a world-class place to do business,” said REBNY President James Whelan. “I also want to recognize an essential foundation of our industry’s strength: our partnership with organized labor. We are proud to recognize members of 32BJ SEIU and Local 94 among today’s honorees.” Organized by the REBNY Commercial Management Leadership Breakfast Planning Committee, the following awards were presented:

  • Edward A. Riguardi Commercial Management Executive of the Year Award: Michael Aisner, RXR

  • John M. Griffin Community Service Award: Michael Bosso, CBRE

  • On-Site Manager of the Year Award: Janet Burns, SL Green Realty Corp.

  • Portfolio Manager of the Year Award: Bridget Cunningham, Vornado Realty Trust

  • Small Building Engineer of the Year Award: Michael Pellegrino, L&L Holding Company

  • Large Building Engineer of the Year Award: Jay Siller, Silverstein Properties, Inc.

  • Security Professional of the Year Award: Cheryl Pennant, The Durst Organization

  • Hector J. Figueroa Porter of the Year Award: Elvis Metjahic, BMS Building Maintenance Service (Managed by Vornado Realty Trust)

  • Rising Star of the Year Award: Andrew Woolf, Empire State Realty Trust

  • Best Engine Room Award: One Madison Avenue (SL Green Realty Corp.)

Nearly 650 individuals attended the breakfast at 583 Park Avenue. Commercial real estate professionals were joined by labor leaders including Manny Pastreich, President of 32BJ-SEIU; David Hawkins, President of IUOE Local 94; and Howard Rothschild, President of the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations.

The awards presentation was hosted by Gaston Silva, Chief Operating Officer, New York, Vornado Realty Trust, and Co-Chair of REBNY’s Management Advisory Board.
