Keynote Remarks Delivered By New York City Sanitation Commissioner Jessica Tisch

The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), the City’s leading real estate trade association, gathered members of the commercial property management industry on June 13th for the 18th Annual Commercial Management Leadership Breakfast. Celebrating the accomplishments of commercial property management professionals, the event featured keynote remarks from New York City Sanitation Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

The prestigious Edward A. Riguardi Commercial Management Executive of the Year Award was presented to Bill Dacunto of Silverstein Properties. Dacunto is responsible for managing all 15 million square feet of properties in the Silverstein portfolio, including commercial, residential, retail, and the World Trade Center. Since September 11, 2001, he has been intimately involved in the re-building of the World Trade Center, working as part of the team that developed the new buildings, their protective design narrative and their operational standards. With responsibilities covering Silverstein’s portfolio in cities across the country, Dacunto plays an active role in these local communities, often working closely with public officials and other business and civic leaders.

“The last few years have made clear how important commercial office buildings are to the health of New York City. That sector cannot function without talented and dedicated property management personnel,” said REBNY President James Whelan. “We thank all of the honorees and the professionals that keep our buildings running at peak performance.”
