NEW YORK, NY – The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY) has announced the outstanding deals and projects of 2022 that will compete for its coveted Retail Deal of the Year Awards. For the first time the awards will recognize Retail Development/Project of the Year, in addition to the Most Ingenious and Most Impactful Deals. Winners will be announced at an in-person ceremony and cocktail party on September 13th at the Starbucks Reserve space within the Empire State Building.
Judges consisting of real estate lawyers, property owners and past and present Chairs of the REBNY Retail Committee (having no conflicts of interest) will evaluate the deal award nominations based on ingenuity and professional skill. The Most Ingenious Retail Deal of the Year recognizes exceptional broker acumen (ingenuity and creativity), while the Most Impactful Retail Deal of the Year is given to the most meaningful retail transaction in its overall characteristics and importance to the New York City retail market.

The new Retail Development/Project of the Year award honors developers, architects, general contractors and consultants who facilitated development of the most impactful and unique retail-focused development throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Nominated by past chairs of the Retail Committee, the winner will be voted on by the entire membership, made up of brokers, landlords and tenants. This award is given to those that demonstrate creativity, originality and impact on the retail landscape of New York City.
