Keynote Remarks Delivered By New York City Economic Development Corporation President & CEO Andrew Kimball
NEW YORK, NY – The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), the City’s leading real estate trade association, gathered members of the commercial property management industry on June 12th for the 19th Annual Commercial Management Leadership Breakfast. Celebrating the accomplishments of commercial property management professionals, the event featured keynote remarks from New York City Economic Development Corporation President & CEO Andrew Kimball.
The prestigious Edward A. Riguardi Commercial Management Executive of the Year Award was presented to Dermot Shea, President, Related Commercial Management Company. Shea overseas the management and operations of all Related Companies commercial office and mixed-use properties in New York City. Prior to joining Related, Shea spent 30 years in the New York City Police Department, including serving as Commissioner. He has carried his innovative, data-driven management style from the NYPD to Related where he has helped oversee operations of the company’s iconic buildings in Hudson Yards and Columbus Circle.
“Commercial property managers take on responsibilities essential for sustaining New York City’s economic output, energy efficiency and attractiveness for job creators,” said REBNY President James Whelan. “We are thankful to the honorees and the professionals that keep our buildings running at peak performance, as well as all those who recognize their importance by supporting this event.”
Organized by the REBNY Commercial Management Breakfast Planning Committee, the following awards were presented at the event:

On-Site Manager the Year award to Jennifer Ciccotto, SL Green Realty Corp
Portfolio Manager of the Year to Cindy Osumdson, RXR
Small Building Engineer of the Year Award to Thomas Mazza, Cushman & Wakefield
Large Building Engineer of the Year Award to Robert Naegely, Vornado
Security Professional of the Year Award to Zoraida Ginett, Allied Universal
Hector J. Figueroa Porter of the Year Award to Denny Urul, 1345 Cleaning Service Co.
Rising Star of the Year Award to Jessica Rios, Sage Realty Corporation

Nearly 600 individuals attended the breakfast held at the Grand Ball Room of the New York Hilton in Midtown Manhattan. Commercial real estate professionals at the event were also joined by many labor leaders, including Manny Pastreich of 32BJ, David Hawkins of Local 94 and Howard Rothchild of the Realty Advisory Board.
