REBNY Residential Listing Service to Launch Syndication Feed

New service for participating member firms will provide listing content to residential real estate agents and consumers

The Board of Directors of the Real Estate Board of New York’s (REBNY) Residential Brokerage Division has finalized plans to syndicate REBNY Residential Listing Service (RLS) listings through  a centralized, single feed, Co-Chairs Diane Ramirez, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Halstead Property and Michael Bisordi, President of Tungsten Property, announced today. Currently, residential sales and rental listings are sent out via hundreds of individual feeds.

This new service will be offered to REBNY member firms at no additional cost as part of the suite of services provided to participating RLS firms. RLS firms must choose to opt into the service.

“As part of REBNY’s increased investment to upgrade the RLS and broaden the scope of services provided to participating firms, this plan for syndication directly addresses a critical challenge facing New York City residential real estate brokers and salespeople,” said Ms. Ramirez.

“With this process, the RLS will improve data quality for residential real estate agents and the public who will have access to accurate and consistent listing content, drive listing visibility and transparency, and streamline the process of sharing listings for all REBNY firms that choose to opt-in,” said Mr. Bisordi.

“Syndication is a win-win for our members as well as consumers. It will reduce costs and increase efficiency for agents, and provide more accurate data for consumers to make well-informed decisions," said REBNY President John Banks. “I want to thank the Residential Brokerage Board of Directors led by Co-chairs Michael Bisordi and Diane Ramirez, the RLS Board of Directors led by Co-Chairs Steven Goldschmidt and Todd Parmley, and our residential brokerage member firms for their ongoing support and commitment to this important achievement,” said REBNY President John Banks.

REBNY, the RLS, and the Residential Brokerage Board of Directors have been working on implementation of syndication for 18 months. In 2016, REBNY announced a technology investment in contemplation of a mid-2017 syndicated feed launch as part of a long-planned strategic roll out of this service.

The Board has set a target date of August 1st to launch the syndicated feed. The RLS encourages all third party websites that wish to receive the feed to contact REBNY’s Stefan Martinovic at to sign the RLS content licensing agreement.

Firms that have contacted the Board to indicate that they intend to opt-in and participate in the syndicated feed include, among others:  BOND New York, Brown Harris Stevens, Citi Habitats, Compass, The Corcoran Group, CORE, Fox Residential Group, Halstead Property, Leslie J. Garfield & Co., Stribling & Associates, TOWN Residential, and Warburg Realty.
