Statement from Real Estate Board of New York President Steven Spinola on 32BJ Contract Agreement

“I commend the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations and 32BJ SEIU for working together to achieve a fair and mutually beneficial agreement. I want to especially thank Howard Rothschild, president of the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations, Héctor J. Figueroa, the president of 32BJ and the talented, professional members of both of their negotiating teams. I'm pleased this means there will be no disruption of service for the people we serve.

This agreement should serve as a model for other labor negotiations, the best evidence of a fair and solid agreement is when both sides make concessions, as happened here. The Real Estate Board of New York is proud to represent the New York industry that is the largest provider of quality, good paying, private sector, union jobs. I have great respect for the hard working members of 32BJ and I am proud to say that thousands of those members are part of our REBNY family. We look forward to our continued strong partnership with 32BJ in serving and maintaining the most important real estate in the world.”
