REBNY to Honor Bernard Warren with Management Award

Bernard Warren

On January 17, 2019, at our 123rd Annual Banquet at the New York Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, we will have the great honor of presenting our dear friend Bernard Warren with the George M. Brooker Management Executive of the Year Award for his unique and exemplary professionalism, civic achievement and contributions to the real estate industry. The fact that Warren will accept an award named for his mentor will add meaning and significance to an already momentous occasion.

Bernard Warren’s professional accolades speak for themselves. He is the Chairman and President of Webb & Brooker, where he is the primary liaison between the firm’s various boards, conducts negotiations on the firm’s behalf with contractors and monitors buildings’ budgets. Moreover, as the city grapples with a crippling housing shortage and affordability crisis, Bernard is Webb & Booker’s primary partner to organizations developing and/or refinancing affordable housing across the five boroughs. He has a vast amount of experience in managing real estate, including implementing multi-million-dollar major capital improvement programs that directly improve the lives of tenants.

Perhaps most impressive about Bernard is the fact that he has steadily risen the ladder at Webb & Booker throughout his career, starting at the firm in 1990 after a stint as senior Retail Expansion representative for the Federal Express Corporation. Day in and day out Bernard worked diligently and has been recognized for his efforts.

In addition to his work at Webb & Brooker, Bernard serves on several boards and organizations that contribute to both the real estate industry and New York civic life. He is a member of the Board of Directors at the National Registered Apartment Managers and he is one of the founding members of New York Affordable Housing Management Association, Inc., which is an advocate for affordable and professional living standards for multifamily property managers and owners. He also serves as vice president for the Board of Managers for the Jamaica YMCA, an organization that empowers kids, families and communities.

Mr. Warren holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing from Baruch College, where he is a regular guest lecturer. He also has a Master of Science Degree in Human Resources Development from Fordham University.

New York’s real estate industry is more effective, personable and accessible thanks to Bernard—and anyone who has ever worked with him will tell you the same. The Real Estate Board of New York is proud to have worked alongside Bernard in various capacities over the years, and we hope that you will join us in January to celebrate his tremendous career and positive impact on countless New Yorkers.
