REBNY honoree Steven Marvin represents the best in the real estate business
January 6, 2016
REBNY’s 120th Annual Banquet is three short weeks away, and will be honoring some of the real estate industry’s top performers with some of the industry’s most sought-after awards. Among this year’s honorees is Steven H. Marvin, Executive Managing Director and Partner of Olmstead Properties. Mr. Marvin will be receiving the Young Real Estate Man of the Year Award, which is selected by the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association (YMWREA) of New York and presented to a REBNY member who exemplifies strong integrity, professionalism, and personal ethics.
Mr. Marvin has been involved in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, and management in New York City for over 28 years, and is responsible for the development and implementation of the leasing and marketing of approximately 2.5 million square feet of properties in the SoHo, Hudson Square, City Hall, NoMad, and Fashion District markets of Manhattan. He not only oversees his current building portfolio, but he is also an active tenant rep broker with a wide range of influential clients, such as Buzzfeed, Paperless Post, Intent Media, S. Rothschild & Company, SR Gambrel, and Studio Daniel Libeskind Architect, among several others.
Before joining Olmstead Properties, Mr. Marvin was involved in the multi-tenanted loft renovation and conversion of 584-588 Broadway – one of SoHo’s first conversions to a commercial office building from a manufacturing building. Two years after he joined Olmstead Properties in 1993, Olmstead and its partners purchased the building, and still owns and manages it today.
Mr. Marvin’s considerable contributions to the real estate industry more than qualify him for the Young Real Estate Man of the Year Award; however, those alone do not summarize his services to the community or his activities outside of real estate. He is a board member at The Education Alliance, where he was the honoree at their 2015 annual benefit, and Fresh Meadow Country Club, where he also serves as the co-Chair of admission. He also serves as the co-Chair of the UJA’s Sites and Sounds Committee, Real Estate Division, and the Hudson Square Business Improvement District.
Mr. Marvin also serves on the Admissions Committee for the YMWREA and is a former Chairman and honoree of the Israel Bonds Young Leadership Division.
REBNY members like Steven Marvin exemplify the reason REBNY hosts multiple banquets, seminars, and ceremonies throughout the year; many of our members give a substantial amount of time and effort to our industry, and deserve to be recognized by their peers for the outstanding work that they do. I look forward to formally honoring Mr.Marvin for his accomplishments and contributions at this year’s Annual Banquet, and encourage all of our industry members to join us as we celebrate another successful year in New York City real estate.
