Women have the edge at annual speakers forum
February 20, 2013
President, Real Estate Board of New York
In its second year, the Real Estate Weekly Women’s Forum offers a day of great networking and interesting speakers and panels featuring female industry leaders, many of whom are Real Estate Board of New York members.
Those who attend the event on Wed., Feb. 27 will be able to create new connections, find mentors, and share and learn about career and business opportunities in each of the key sectors of the real estate industry. More than 500 are expected to attend. REBNY members get a 25 percent off discount on registration for the event, held from 7:45 am to 5:40 pm at the McGraw-Hill Conference Center, 1221 Avenue of the Americas.
This year’s theme of "Women Who ...” will provide insight and access to industry leaders in a wide range of areas from deal making to development to institutional and governmental players. There will also be interactive networking sessions to facilitate new connections.
I encourage all to take advantage of this great career-building opportunity. According to organizers, a special theme of mentorship has also emerged this year. Women from different generations are working together for their panel discussions and they are encouraging others to embrace this type of mentorship.
Mary Ann Tighe, Chief Executive Officer of New York Region, CBRE and former REBNY Chairman, chose Jennifer Novack, Head of Americas, Sousou Partners to interview her for the afternoon’s Keynote Conversation: How Did I Get Here? Attendees will get insight into Mary Ann’s successful career story and what she learned along the way.
For the morning Keynote Presentation, the State of the Market will be discussed by Annemarie DiCola, Chief Executive Officer of Trepp who will give an overview of the market, the results of the fiscal cliff and an outlook on how our industry will be affected in the coming year. Another great topic will be The Journey to St. Vincent’s, discussed by Melanie Meyers, Partner at Fried Frank and Samantha Rudin Earls, Vice President of Rudin Management Company.
REBNY members can use code 25REBNY to get 25 percent off registration. Go to www.rewomensforum.com or email email@example.com. REW Women’s Forum will donate a portion of each registration to Uniting Against Lung Cancer, which is dedicated to funding innovative research and raising awareness to find a cure for lung cancer.
