Get your ticket to more deals than you can make in a whole year

It is real estate’s biggest night of the year. The Real Estate Board of New York will celebrate its 117th Annual Banquet on January 17, 2013 at the New York Hilton Hotel.

Have you purchased your ticket yet?

REBNY’s Annual Banquet is the only event of the year that brings the whole industry together for a spectacular night filled with great networking opportunities, influential deal making and lots of fun with friends and colleagues. The crowd’s enthusiasm is usually a great indicator of market vitality.

We will honor a distinguished group of industry leaders who have had unprecedented success and demonstrated continued commitment to New York City and the industry. This year’s honorees are Donald Zucker, Mike Fishman, Dottie Herman, Woody Heller, Dick Concannon and William Montana.

The night will also be the first time our new Chairman, Rob Speyer, will preside over the dinner, which attracts more than 2,000 attendees. Join me in welcoming Rob in his new role as REBNY’s youngest chairman as well as the third generation of his family to serve in that position.

From the moment the Banquet starts, deal making commences. Every year, I have been told more deals are made at the Banquet than at any other place throughout the year.

Whether you are a newcomer to the industry or a seasoned veteran, there’s an incredible opportunity to work the room and make new contacts with New York’s major developers and brokers, top lawyers and executives from a variety of financial institutions.

It’s everyone you want to see in one room and I encourage all attendees to take advantage of the occasion and make new contacts and remarkable deals.   With that said, I will continue the annual tradition of attempting to shush the crowd during our 20 minute award ceremony!

Once the awards are presented, we will run our Banquet video. This year it features Department of City Planning’s East Midtown rezoning proposal and REBNY member’s response. Rezoning this area will invigorate and strengthen NYC’s position as the world’s premier office district by attracting new businesses and will help keep our city on competitive footing with other world cities. The evening will offer a great opportunity to debate the merits of this important planning initiative.

Our Annual Banquet is the not-to-be-missed event of the year and the opportunity to commend six incredible honorees for their years of hard work and commitment to our city and industry. I hope to see all of you there on January 17.
