To better serve your needs when it comes to your exclusive listings, we are excited to introduce changes to the RLS. These changes will ensure that the Listing Management Providers (LMPs) serving your brokerage firm, operate efficiently and meet national standards. The way you currently submit, and update listings should experience little to no disruption.

Key Dates

1. January 14, 2025

New RLS Listing ID

  • Listings in the RLS will be assigned a new RLS Listing ID, which will serve as the primary identifier for syndication.

  • This update ensures that all listing history remains intact when brokerage firms switch Listing Management Providers.

  • You will begin seeing the new Listing ID, which starts with "RLS" followed by numeric digits (e.g., "RLSxxxxxxx"), displayed on IDX, VOW, and consumer websites.

Media Visibility for Off-Market Listings

  • When a listing is updated to any off-market status:

    • The primary photo will remain available if not deleted by the listing agent.

    • All other photos will be removed from IDX, VOW, or any direct RLS data feeds.

    • You can still access these photos through your Listing Management Provider (internal listing service within your brokerage firm), but they should not be distributed in order to protect members from potential copyright issues.

Backend Listing System Migration

  • The RLS Core Backend System is where all REBNY member listings live to allow for sharing and collaboration. Such system powers the listing service you access daily at your brokerage firm. The RLS is where all the listing data is stored, updated, and connected. To ensure data integrity, the system creates rules to ensure that listings are submitted in a clean, consistent format, making it easier for everyone to work with accurate and professional data.

  • As part of our upgrade, this Backend system will be migrating to CoreLogic, who is the leading MLS technology provider in North America serving over 80% of agents and brokers nationwide. This change will ensure the RLS continues to run smoothly, securely, and efficiently for all members.

  • With this migration, the RLS Board had approved private outdoor space, a new required data field that will be required when submitting a listing.

    • This new required field will capture more detailed information about private outdoor spaces on listings.

    • If your listings reference private outdoor space, you must submit the square footage. Please coordinate with your listing management provider or listing administrator at your brokerage firm for further details.

We appreciate your attention to this update and are committed to supporting you throughout this transition. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact RLS Support at RLSSupport@Rebny.com
