Real Estate Diversity Through Internship

he real estate industry has always been a leader in pursuing civic opportunities and involvement in the community.
Unfortunately, it has not always done as well in its outreach to minorities and women, two groups that have
traditionally been underrepresented in our industry. As the nation becomes more diverse, our industry should be taking advantage of as wide a talent pool possible. In 2007, the minority population in the United States topped 100 million people, or nearly 1 in 3 of all Americans. Bringing more women and minorities into the real estate industry is a priority for attracting and retaining quality talent as the next generation of real estate professionals.

REBNY is creating a new resource to advertise and reach out to students in the City's Real Estate programs and link them to internship and entry level positions in the industry with our members. Our new LinkedIn Group, entitled Real Estate Diversity through Internship Opportunities, will serve as a connection point for students, emerging professionals, and recent graduates to connect with the City's premier real estate firms and gain their first experiences in the industry with a valued REBNY member. We will prominently link the group on and we will work to proactively connect with university student associations and career centers to ensure they are aware of this resource.
