Merle was Director of Sales for real estate developer Aaron Green Company who built Memphis Downtown Condominium. Her strategy to close the building was to highlight the buyers. Along with her natural ability for deal making she sold out the building. She was a leader in pioneering the West Village.Memphis Downtown is a 22- story luxury condominium of a post modernism design at 140 Charles Street in the West Village where Merle has a career of representing buyers and sellers.

Merle was promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing for the development team on their new residential and commercial projects. She sold the American Railway Supply Co. building (c) 1910 at 134 Charles Street with 12,000 SF of outdoor space to American painter Jennifer Bartlett.


Merle founded the photography program at Horace Mann School in New York City where she taught black and white photography and darkroom printing. Her thesis exhibition for her Master’s degree in Art Education was presented at the Horace Mann Gallery.

Her artistic and business talents are matched by her philanthropic efforts. For over 25 years Merle has been an integral part of Strang, the oldest cancer prevention center in the USA. She is a Trustee of Strang Cancer Prevention Institute in New York. In 2014 she established the Dianne Zola Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.


Merle earned a Masters of Art Education degree at the University of Hartford\'s Hartford Art School, West Hartford, Connecticut and a Master of Arts degree in Psychoanalysis at the New York campus of the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis.
