a collection of exclusive sale and rental residential real estate listings
available to the public
through a website that is maintained through the partnership of The Real
Estate Board of New York and Trulia, Inc. All the exclusive listings
shown on the site are brokered by participating members of the REBNY
Listing Service (RLS) which co-brokes on average 10,000 New York City
listings a day. Each company participating in both the RLS and ResidentialNYC.com
are held to a strict code of ethics and all brokers are licensed with
the State of New York. Brokerage firms wishing to enroll in ResidentialNYC.com
must be a member of the RLS (non-REBNY members can join the RLS for an
additional fee) and must fill out an additional enrollment form. Click

The Real Estate Board Services Desk sells
(at a special discount to members) the standard REBNY commercial and
residential lease forms which are used throughout the city (also available
online at www.rebny.com), as well as the Board's Standard Co-op and
Condo Purchase Application Form, its Building Data Form and Standard
Alteration Agreement (all available on disk), and the Board's Annual
Diary & Manual which contains a directory of all REBNY members
and a wealth of reference material that can be applied to solve many
business problems. The Annual Diary & Manual is regarded
as the industry's almanac.
Education
REBNY’s continuing education programs for brokers and salespersons, and
for applicants seeking those licenses are accredited by New York’s Department
of State. Courses are scheduled conveniently and priced reasonably for members
who must satisfy the states various education requirements. Arrangements can
be made for taking instruction on-line. The classes, taught by industry leaders
and senior government officials, give members a special perspective on important
realty issues.
Seminars
REBNY members can improve their sales skills, learn about changes in laws and
regulations, and acquire valuable information about real estate practice at
Board seminars.
REBNY’s Member’s Only Web Site,
found via www.rebny.com, contains
a directory of Real Estate Board members and a calendar of upcoming
events of interest to members. The site’s page offers exclusive
access to our property and membership databases, our Research Department’s
reports, texts of various Board publications and bulletins legislatives
and regulatory matters. The page also has links to the sites of government
agencies and other useful applications. In addition, brokerage firms
can provide other REBNY members with direct access to their own Web
pages via www.rebny.com.
The Real Estate Board Staff is
on call to help REBNY members make the best use of the library and
data base, and to give advice about such problems as securing permits,
obtaining and retaining broker and salesperson licenses, threading
one's way through bureaucratic red tape, and analyzing government programs
of special interest to the real estate profession.
Membership Lunches and Dinners present
as speakers both senior public officials and
industry leaders who keep REBNY members current on issues that affect their
businesses.
The Board's Affiliations with Other Professional
Real Estate Institutes make qualified REBNY members
eligible to participate in the programs of such organizations as
the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, the Institute
of Real Estate Management, the Association of Real Estate Women
and the Society of Industrial Realtors.
Real Estate Board Awards are
highly respected insignias of professional achievement.
Among the most well-known REBNY awards are the annual Henry Hart Rice and Robert
T. Lawrence prizes given to commercial brokers who negotiate complicated agreements
with noteworthy inventiveness, and the Residential Deals of the Year and Retail
Deals of the Year for similar accomplishments in their respective sectors.
