Broker
Holds New York State real estate broker's license - acts primarily as a real estate broker, mortgage loan broker, agent or auctioneer
Broker A
Principal, member of a partnership, or an officer of a brokerage firmwhose office is in Manhattan
Broker B
Same as Broker A where the firm has one or more Broker A members 
Broker C
A licensed New York State real estate broker who works for a Broker A member 
Borough Broker
Same as Broker A except office is located in a borough of New York City other than Manhattan (does not apply to members of the Residential Brokerage Division) 
Non-Resident Broker
Same as Broker A except place of business is located outside New York City (not eligible to join RLS) 
 
Salesperson
An individual who holds a New York State salesperson's license who is employed by a Broker A member 
 
Appraiser
An individual whose principal business is appraisal of real estate and is a member of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers or a similar nationally recognized organization 
Appraiser A
Principal, member of a partnership, or an officer of an appraisal firm whose main office is in Manhattan. 
Appraiser C
An appraiser who is employed by an Appraiser A member 
Non-Resident Appraiser
Same as Appraiser A except main office is located outside Manhattan 
Candidate Appraiser
An individual employed by an Appraiser A or Non-Resident Appraiser who is in the process of completing requirements to become an appraiser 
 
Management
Individuals directing the operation and maintenance of buildings in New York City 
Management A
Principals in their own business or as members of co-partnerships or senior officers or designated representatives of corporations 
Management B
Same as Management A where the firm has one or more Management A members 
Management C
Heads of departments for Management A or Broker A members 
Management D
Assistants to the heads of departments for Management A or Broker A members 
 
Owner and Institutional Owner
Any individual, co-partnership or corporation owning real property within New York City 
 
Allied & Associate
 
Allied
Associations, organizations, individuals, co-partnerships and corporations not qualifying for membershipin categories noted above 
Associate
Attorneys as individual practitioners, members of a partnership or professional corporation
 
Corporate Executive
Any individual employed solely by a corporation in an exectuive capacity charged with the handling for that corporation of its real estate without additional compensation or fee for such activities other than his regular compensation, provided the corporation is not primarily engaged for itself or others in owning, managing, buying, selling or appraisingreal estate and provided (a) such corporation does not have a license as a real estate broker and (b) is not restricted to membership in any of the following classes of membership, may be elected through the usual process as a Corporate Executive Member
